June 2026 – Men’s Health Week

Men’s Health Week 2026: Small Steps Towards Better Health

Men’s Health Week 2026 takes place from 15–21 June and is an opportunity to raise awareness of the physical, mental, and emotional health challenges faced by men and boys.

This year’s focus, led by the Men’s Health Forum, is on men and pharmacy, highlighting how community pharmacies can play a vital role in helping men access health advice, screenings, and support services.

Across Ireland, the theme is “One Step at a Time – Progress, Not Perfection,” encouraging men to make small, sustainable changes that can lead to long-term improvements in health and wellbeing.

Because men are traditionally less likely to seek traditional medical support, both local pharmacies and complementary therapies are vital, low-pressure entry points for breaking the silence around men’s health.

How Acupuncture can Support Men’s Health

Complementary therapies such as Acupuncture should not replace conventional medical care or primary pharmacy check-ups, but rather work alongside them to create a holistic approach to wellbeing. Here is how Acupuncture can play a key role:

  • Stress Management
Acupuncture may help men manage stress by calming the nervous system, reducing tension, and promoting relaxation. Many men seek treatment to help balance the pressures of work, family life, and daily responsibilities.
  • Pain Management
Acupuncture is commonly used to support relief from back pain, neck tension, joint discomfort, sports injuries, and muscle tightness. It can be especially beneficial for active men, manual workers, or those experiencing chronic pain.
  • Mental Health Support
Acupuncture may help support emotional wellbeing by reducing symptoms associated with stress, anxiety, low mood, and burnout. Treatments can encourage relaxation, improve sleep quality, and help men feel more emotionally balanced.
  • Overall Wellbeing
Regular acupuncture treatments may support energy levels, improve sleep, encourage better recovery, and help maintain overall physical and mental balance. Many men use acupuncture as part of a proactive approach to long-term health and wellbeing.
