As the winter nights draw in, a cup of Golden Milk (or Turmeric Milk) seems even more inviting!
Golden milk is a warm, healing drink that has natural anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-arthritic benefits. Turmeric, a common Ayurvedic spice, is widely used to aid sleep quality and makes for a comforting bedtime drink. This is our favourite recipe:

Ingredients:
- half a cup of almond milk (or coconut milk)
- half a cup of water
- half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
- one small pinch of ginger powder (optional)
- 1-2 cardamom pods crushed (or quarter teaspoon of cardamom powder)
- quarter teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- one pinch of black pepper
- one teaspoon of raw honey
Method:
- Place all ingredients except the honey into a saucepan and bring to a boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes
- Strain ingredients into a cup and stir in the honey
