December 2023 – keep warm during these cold nights..

As the winter nights draw in, a cup of Golden Milk (or Turmeric Milk) seems even more inviting!

Golden milk is warm, healing drink that has natural anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-arthritic benefits.  Turmeric, a common Ayurvedic spice, is widely used to aid sleep quality and makes for a comforting bedtime drink.  This is our favourite recipe:


  • half a cup of almond milk (or coconut milk)
  • half a cup of water
  • half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • one small pinch of ginger powder (optional)
  • 1-2 cardamom pods crushed (or quarter teaspoon of cardamom powder)
  • quarter teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • one pinch of black pepper
  • one teaspoon of raw honey


  • Place all ingredients except the honey into a saucepan and bring to a boil
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes
  • Strain ingredients into a cup and stir in the honey

Enjoy this wonderful healing drink just before bedtime…
